Paper Holiday Ornaments

Paper Holiday Ornament

We got hit with a surprise snowstorm and over a week of freezing temperatures that are decidedly atypical for our area, which means I’ve spent most of the past week either shoveling snow or stuck inside accutane for acne finishing up my holiday cards. So, just for fun, I decided to try making these paper holiday ornaments.

I found two tutorials and, with some playing around, made my ornaments just a bit different from those. I didn’t use sequins, but I did make some round paper circles to cover where the paper strips come together at the top and bottom. I also used a corner rounder on the corners. It did look great, but it took a lot more time.

Here are two tutorials I found of different variations of this ornament:
First Tutorial – YouTube video tutorial by Mark Montano
Second Tutorial – Text and photo tutorial by Stephanie Lynn

This was quite fun, and wouldn’t take very long if I hadn’t taken the time to round all the corners.

Enjoy, Candy

  1. I like yours better than any others I’ve seen. Rounding the ends really made a difference!

    • Thanks, Becky. These were so fun to do. I think they would be fine without the rounding too. You could just make the paper circle a bit bigger to cover the ends of the paper.
