Studio Snapshot – Playing With My New Chiyogami Papers

This past week I’ve been making paper lotus flowers, origami mandalas and paper wrapped pencils out of the new Chiyogami papers I received from Washi Arts. I shared the photo of the papers I received on my last post and here is what I’ve been doing with them.

I love these papers! The colors are spectacular and they fold beautifully. Yes, they are expensive, but so worth it.

Chiyogami Papers From Washi Arts

Just what I needed to raise my spirits, my paper order from Washi Arts arrived! After spending most of the past week in the hospital at the bedside of a family member, receiving these papers was just what the doctor ordered. It put a smile on my face.

These Japanese Chiyogami papers arrived at the right time to raise my spirits.

Studio Snapshot – Chiyogami Paper Sample Subscription

I received a wonderful gift this past Christmas, a Washi Arts Chiyogami Paper Sample Subscription. It was gifted to me by my sister-in-law who shares my love for paper. Each month I receive a lovely selection of 3″ by 3″ chiyogami papers.

For January, I received a little storage box along with a number of 3″ by 3″ samples of chiyogami papers, stripes and calligraphic marks. They are absolutely lovely! In February, I received a wonderful packet of chiyogami floral and botanical patterned papers. I love them!

By the end of the year I will have close to 500 different 3″ by 3″ samples of chiyogami papers. All the papers are labeled on the back, so I know which ones I want to order. Unfortunately, I want to order them all!
